COMPLIANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
OF COPE, WAME AND DORA

The editorial policy of the Journal "Bulletin of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics" is based on international standards of ethics of scientific publications and best practices of academic publishing. The Journal adheres to the recommendations of the international organizations Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and supports the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).

These principles apply to all participants in the publication process — authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.

Adherence to COPE principles

The journal is guided by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on ensuring ethical standards in scientific publishing.

The editorial board of the Journal undertakes to:

• ensure a transparent, objective and independent manuscript review process;

• prevent and detect plagiarism, duplication of publications, fabrication or falsification of research results;

• use procedures for checking manuscripts for text borrowings using specialized software;

• consider cases of possible violations of publication ethics in accordance with COPE recommended procedures;

• publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as necessary.

Compliance with WAME recommendations

The editorial activity of the Journal comply with the principles of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) regarding the independence of editorial decisions and the responsibility of editors.

The editorial team provides:

• independence of editorial decisions from commercial or political influence;

• compliance with the principles of confidentiality during review;

• unbiased consideration of manuscripts regardless of the race, gender, institutional affiliation, nationality, or political views of the authors;

• mandatory disclosure of conflicts of interest by authors, reviewers, and editors;

• Responsible management of editorial processes and maintenance of high standards of scientific quality.

Supporting DORA principles

The Journal supports San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and promotes the responsible use of research evaluation indicators.

Magazine editorial team:

• evaluates manuscripts based on scientific quality, methodology, novelty, and significance of results, not just on bibliometric indicators;

• does not use the journal impact factor as the main criterion for assessing the quality of individual studies;

• supports transparency in the presentation of research results;

• encourages the responsible use of alternative metrics and research impact indicators.

Ethical obligations of participants in the publication process

Authors

Authors must submit original and authentic scientific papers that have not been previously published and are not under consideration in other publications. All sources must be properly cited. Authors are also required to disclose potential conflicts of interest and ensure the reliability of the presented results.

Reviewers

Reviewers must provide objective, confidential, and constructive peer review of manuscripts. In the event of a conflict of interest, they must notify the editorial office and decline to review.

Editors

Editors make publication decisions based on scientific merit, actuality, and relevance to the journal's topic. They are required to ensure the confidentiality of the editorial process and adhere to the principles of impartiality.

Transparency and accountability

The journal strives to provide:

• adherence to the principles of academic integrity;

• transparency of editorial policies and review procedures;

• equal and impartial consideration of all manuscripts;

• responsibility of all participants in the publication process.

The editorial board of the Journal "Bulletin of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics" is constantly improving its policies in accordance with international standards of scientific publishing.
