POLICY FOR THE USE OF
GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The Scientific Journal "Bulletin of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics" confirms its commitment to the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics and transparency in accordance with the "Policy of the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the ChITE SUTE" (2025).

The Editorial Board supports the introduction of innovative technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI), into the processes of preparing scientific publications only as an auxiliary tool, provided that the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and accountability are observed.

• Authors can use AI for language editing, stylistic improvement, and technical assistance, but remain fully responsible for the content of the work.

• The use of AI to generate scientific results, data, analysis, or references is unacceptable.

• AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author.

When using AI, authors must:

• clearly state this in the manuscript;

• describe the tool and its purpose.

Reviewers are prohibited from:

• upload manuscripts or parts of them into AI systems;

• use AI to analyze or evaluate the scientific content of an article.

Only limited use of AI to improve the language of a review is permitted, provided that the reviewer remains fully responsible for its content.

The editorial board of the Journal "Bulletin of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics" shares the position of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on the use of AI in research, and also follows the recommendations of WAME, "Recommendations on the use of artificial intelligence in scholarly communication" of the European Association of Scholarly Editors (EASE) and Elsevier on the use of generative AI.

These principles stipulate that review should be carried out personally, objectively, and without disclosing the manuscript materials.

Violation of this policy may result in:

• manuscript rejection;

• withdrawal of publication (retraction);

• informing the author's institution.
