COMPLAINT AND APPEAL POLICY
The Journal "Bulletin of the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics" provides transparent, objective and timely consideration of complaints related to editorial activities, review and adherence to the principles of academic integrity. All complaints are considered in accordance with the recommendations of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Complaints may concern:
• review process and editorial decisions;
• published materials (errors, ethical violations);
• actions of authors, reviewers or editors;
• cases of plagiarism, data falsification, conflict of interest.
The complaint is to be submitted in writing (by e-mail ****) and must contain:
• a clear description of the problem;
• article data (title, authors, DOI or ID);
• justification and, if possible, evidence;
• applicant's contact details.
Complaints must be specific and sufficiently substantiated to verify possible violations.
Review procedure:
• the editorial office confirms receipt of the complaint;
• an initial assessment of its content is carried out;
• if necessary, a commission is created or independent experts are involved;
• the parties are given the opportunity to provide explanations;
• The decision is made by the editorial board.
Complaints are considered confidentially, impartially, and taking into account all evidence.
Terms:
• standard review period — up to 30 days;
• in complex cases, the deadline may be extended with notification to the applicant.
Based on the results, the following decisions can be made:
• rejection of the complaint (in the absence of grounds;
• correction or clarification of the publication;
• retraction of the article;
• refusal to publish;
• notification of the author's institution or other measures.
Authors have the right to appeal the decision of the editorial board. Appeals are considered by the editorial board.
Ethical principles
The Journal adheres to the COPE principles regarding:
• confidentiality;
• impartiality;
• fair trial;
• avoiding conflict of interest;
• disclosure of materials and personal responsibility of reviewers and editors for evaluating the manuscript.
The editorial office does not consider complaints:
• without sufficient justification;
• anonymous (unless they contain convincing evidence);
• of an offensive or defamatory nature.
